About the Author

A writer throughout her career, Laurel built and managed a communications department of the largest international human resource consulting firm and within three years, was promoted to the first woman partner in the office. She later started her own successful consulting firm.

Her first published works came after playing Dungeons and Dragons. Laurel co-wrote several fantasy books and game modules, published by Mayfair Games. Some are collector’s items today.

Laurel continued her fantasy writing, publishing four fantasy novels – Daytime Vampire and the Magick trilogy.

Laurel is published in CrimeBits, a book available in hardback and paperback in both the UK (at Waterstones) and in the US (Barnes & Noble). The book includes 100 opening gambits for the start of fictional crime thrillers. Each opening was personally selected by Lee Child, one of the world’s leading crime authors. After Child selected Laurel’s entry for his book, she was inspired to write Because I Remember, a murder mystery that takes place in Southern California where she currently resides with her husband.
